Southwest NeuroSpine Institute in El Paso, Texas, US has purchased Mazor Robotics' Renaissance system, a robotic surgical guidance system, used for spine surgeries.

Mazor Robotics claims that the platform is the only available robotic technology specifically for spine surgery.

Southwest NeuroSpine Institute is a specialty neurosurgery practice serving El Paso and the West Texas and Southern New Mexico region.

Mazor Robotics president and CEO Ori Hadomi said the company is expanding its technology to a new territory in the US.

"Mazor is particularly honored to be associated with Dr, Martin, a renowned and well respected neuro surgeon in the field of spine surgery. His adoption of Mazor's technology is a testament to the value we offer surgeons, patients, and hospitals," Hadomi said.

"We are confident that Southwest NeuroSpine Institute will find Renaissance to be an essential tool in its surgical practice."
